Tools for Transitioning Military
We provide a military skills translator application that enables veterans and transitioning service members to identify careers at Altria that best align with the skills they obtained while in service. The translator converts Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) codes, additional duties, and training into civilian skills, occupations and jobs.
Our company is proud to support programs for veterans, active duty and transitioning military personnel as well as their families. We are proud to count the USO, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and many others as partners in these efforts.

A Department of Defense committee, The Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), honored PM USA with the “Above and Beyond” award, granted for the extraordinary support that Altria provides to its employees who continue to serve our nation. Some of that support includes: differential pay, an activation bonus, job retention and reinstatement, continued health benefits for families while activated, and more.
Employees also participate in Altria Companies Employee Community Fund (ACECF), a nonprofit funded, managed and supported by employees. When employees combine their donations, they are able to make a larger impact in the communities they call home. Many organizations receiving grants through the fund support military personnel, veterans and their families.
Employee Resource Group
SALUTE, Altria’s Military Network is a community for all Altria employees whose interests align with supporting active duty, reserve, former military service members and their families. The ERG’s mission is to: Support current and former military service members and their families, help recruit, develop, and retain military talent, and engage with external support organizations.
